Restoration
Tagliareni Anderson Fine Art offers
a full range of restoration services. Our conservators have the extensive training and experience needed
to address the broad range of issues that arise in painting
restoration. They combine ingenuity and patience with the skills
of artist, historian and restorer. Paintings require meticulous
analysis if further damage is to be avoided. At times, the piece
requires a simple cleaning but often the issues are more
complex. The more that is known about the work, the better the
chances for a favorable result. Evaluation of the condition of a
painting and the decision about whether to clean, re-touch,
re-paint or reline require great skill and insight. The wealth
of knowledge of our conservators about pigments, paints and
solvents and their interactions allow the best possible chance
for a favorable result. Our restorers have exceptional artistic ability and can even replace missing sections of a painting, replicating the original artists' brushstrokes with results undetectable to the naked eye.
Six reasons to have a painting restored:
- You want the painting to look as good as it did the day it was painted.
- The painting's varnish is so yellow and dirty that you can no longer see the details.
- The painting has been harmed by fire, smoke, water or exposure to extreme temperatures.
- The paint is actually flaking or rising from the canvas.
- The painting has been punctured or torn.
- The value of the painting has been diminished because of its' condition.
